American University of Antigua College of Medicine was founded in 2004 by a group of highly respected educators and physicians. Drawing on years of experience in international medical education, AUA’s founders developed the blueprint for a significant new medical education institution dedicated to providing avenues through which qualified and competent students could realize their dreams of becoming practicing physicians in the U.S. and Canada. AUA was founded with the commitment to support underserved communities and address the impending physician shortage with an emphasis on primary care. The curriculum is modeled after those utilized by top U.S. medical schools. The campus stands as a vanguard of technological innovation, incorporating the latest educational software and hardware for teaching, studying, and enhancing student-faculty communication.
Campus Facilities
AUA’s campus incorporates digital learning technology, sophisticated simulators, and custom-designed laboratory facilities that give instant access to a vast array of medical resources. From everyday skills needed for responsible practice to life-or-death decision making, students gather expertise in a supervised setting, which will prepare them to respond calmly and professionally to the demands of practicing medicine. Integrated learning systems in the classrooms allow for immersive, high-definition instruction, both on- and off- campus.
